Keep your inventory safe with specially encoded barcode labels
Barcode labels are basically tags with programmed data stored in them. The main purpose of barcode labels is to recognise and list inventory items of big businesses that have an extensive range of goods in stock. These tags can be easily distinguished by the type of base materials, known as stock, which is then used for printing on.
Presently, labels come with many different types of adhesive backing. It is also possible to order tags in different custom shapes and sizes. Asset tags or bar code labels are often made from paper, plastic, vinyl or metal. These tags can then be attached on the surface of items with the help of the adhesive on the back.
For encoding numerical data on the tags, two different methods are used. In the first technique, a number of vertical lines of different thicknesses are used to encode the data with a particular barcode program. Information is encoded by varying the spaces, number and the thickness of vertical lines.
In the second technique, a two-dimensional pattern of dots of varying thickness are placed on a rectangular or square frame. The human eye cannot decode the numbers that are encoded by these two techniques. These barcode labels are made from special software with the help of a computer.
The information on asset tags and barcode labels can include data fields, sizes and colours depending on the order you place. After these tags are created, a specialised paper with adhesive backing is used for printing.
