Identify your items using barcodes
Barcodes are codes that use lines, symbols and spaces to identify an object. The code can be read by an electronic device, a barcode reader. This reader uses a laser beam to read and the code is translated into the data which is stored in the computer for further usage.
Used for identification
Barcodes are often used by businesses that deal with large numbers of objects on a daily basis. Barcodes on the products help to maintain a proper list. This list is used to identify products. For instance, a shop affixes a barcode on each and every item. Details of every item are recorded before sale using the electronic device. These details later on help the store know which products have been sold. This helps in keeping a sales record.
Similarly, a barcode system is used by shipping and manufacturing companies. This system helps these companies to recognise their products. A barcode is also proof of ownership. The products with barcodes hence cannot be claimed by anyone else and they can easily be traced. Manufacturing companies need to have proof of ownership as anyone could claim to have manufactured a particular product.
Identification of goods is very important for every business. Loss of goods or improper sales records can lead to huge loss.
